Tactilus® by NexGen - Seat Pressure Mapping Solutions (A-Series)

The Tactilus by NexGen seat pressure sensing system is a sophisticated and user-friendly product for evaluating pressure distribution and magnitude between a person and a seating surface. Applications include chair design, wheelchair fitting, ulcer prevention, amongst others. The mats are manufactured using patented smart fabric that is stretchable and durable.

With NexGen’s Tactilus seat sensor you can characterize pressure magnitude of the seat surface, back and head rest simultaneously.

The data collected is then analyzed in our powerful Windows-based software providing you with everything from pressure maps to detailed statistical analysis.

You can choose between TS10 and WP2 software or request both software programs for your application at no additional cost.

In the design of seating surfaces, position, density and conformity of materials is critical. Our Tactilus seat sensor not only significantly reduces the number of test iterations required, but is a key design aid towards determining ergonomic fit for seat designers.

The Tactilus seat sensor is a matrix based tactile surface sensor that works by the principle of piezoresistance. Tiny sensing cells cover the entire surface area of the sensor "skin" allowing for discrete spot pressure analysis at any point in the contact region.

The seat sensor includes a built-in rechargeable battery for portable autonomous operation.
