BIMS™ - Baseline Integrated Tools
for Measuring Progress

BIMS continues in development and is not yet available for sale.

Perform manual muscle testing with BIMS™, a sophisticated-yet-simple state-of-the-art system that combines dynamometry with a comprehensive software package to produce real-time force curves, customized statistics, reports...and more.

BIMS Devices (a) hand dynamometer, (b) pinch gauge,
(c) push pull dynamometer and (d) pinch gauge

BIMS enables strength measurements to be viewed in real time on your computer screen as well as on the dynamometer dial face. BIMS stores data in a searchable database. The BIMS engine instantly generates Test and Patient-specific reports. With BIMS you can see, analyze and document the force-curve, not just the maximum.

BIMS has been engineered to be highly intuitive and simple to use with its library of predefined protocols and streamlined interfaces. A new user can perform Tests and Analysis with minimal training. The instruction manual, the integrated on screen Help Menu, and the BIMS Test Director guide a BIMS user through every facet of BIMS.

Typical BIMS setup includes a hand dynamometer and pinch
gauge. A BIMS analysis screen is being viewed on a laptop.
See screenshots below.

BIMS makes it easy to measure the total amount of force exerted in user-defined time intervals. Practitioners or researchers can define metrics and protocols that are tailored to their very specific needs. BIMS comes with a library of protocols that can be implemented and analyzed with a few clicks of the mouse.

BIMS comes with all necessary accessories in a compact, lightweight case for easy transportation. BIMS connects through the USB port of any Windows XP® or newer laptop or PC that has the BIMS software installed. Simply install BIMS software on your laptop and you can use it at a client's site or your office.

BIMS instruments are manufactured in the USA using Baseline® parts. BIMS has been engineered for the future to support additional devices and capabilities.

Sample Screen Reports

BIMS Main Screen consists of a tool bar that controls settings, a second row tool bar that control tests. Upper right hand graph charts force in real-time. Window below it gives instructions. Big graph on bottom displays force curve after the test. Data field in upper left displays basic test results.

BIMS Area Under The Curve Analysis is a predefined algorithm used to compute intra-curve statistics to develop a coefficient of fatigue. You control all of the variables!

5-Position Grip Test is one of the pre-defined testing protocols. Each testing protocol consists of instructions, test-specific reports, database entries, and instant feedback and analysis.

Rapid Exchange Test is another pre-defined test. Either immediately after the Test, or weeks after a test, use the BIMS database search to create comprehensive, printable, specific Reports.

BIMS Test History Report allows a practitioner to track each patients progress from visit to visit with the automatically generated BIMS Test History Report!

BIMS Database consists of a network of Practitioner, Subject, Test Scan, and Settings data. Data is stored in the BIMS database for quick retrieval, analysis, and report generation.
