Moven Inertial Motion Capture Suit

The Moven motion capture suit is an easy to use, cost efficient system for full-body human motion capture. Moven is based on Xsens' state-of-the-art miniature inertial sensors and wireless communication solutions. This is combined with advanced sensor fusion algorithms that take into account biomechanical constraints.

Moven captures the full 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) body motion of a human in real-time. The motion data is transmitted wirelessly to a PC/laptop, where the full body motion is recorded or viewed. The unique advantage of Moven's unique inertial technology is that no external cameras, emitters or markers are needed. The user can even choose to wear his of her own clothing on top of the Moven Suit, no connection or line-of-sight is needed to the external world other than the wireless data link. The measurement range is up to 150m/500ft wireless.

The 16 inertial motion trackers estimate orientation and 3D linear accelerations in world coordinates which can be used to calculate translations and rotation of the body segments. The advanced articulated body model (23 segment biomechanical model) constrains the motions and eliminates any integration drift or foot-sliding.

This highly advanced approach gives users of Moven incredible freedom in type of motions (no problems with lost/interchanged markers, no issues with internal arm/hand rotations, no constraint in jumping/sliding, etc.).
