FSA Shear Sensors
Shear sensors have a central shear element that measures the tangential (parallel) shear forces in 360 degrees. The central shear element lays on top of a 4 by 4 array of normal force sensors and also shows the normal force gradient (pinch shear). Shear sensors run on the regular FSA3 interface and software. They are thin (0.015in) and flexible and are used to investigate shear forces between the skin and support surfaces. Information provided indicates the direction of the forces and magnitude of the forces sensed. Multiple shear sensors can be applied to different locations and displayed simultaneously.
